meet the b family! we go to church together and are in the same sunday school class, so they have to put up with me fairly often. :) i really enjoyed spending time with them yesterday! they're really one of the sweetest families you'll ever meet. little man kept us all laughing as we explored the salem college campus together. he made sure to point out how old all the buildings were and asked a few times if the people were really old too. :) we had fun and nobody fell in the creek, so i consider that a success. :) thanks guys!

i can see already what a great big sister miss p is! she's very protective of her new sister, and wants to know her every move. baby a is such a little beauty! i enjoyed this session with this sweet family!

i got to meet the b family for their session this past weekend. we took a walk around old salem and salem college. the girls enjoyed the fall leaves and seeing the pumpkins out. old salem is SO pretty in the fall! thanks for a great session, b family!

i seriously had the best time on saturday photographing this fun family! the kids were fantastic to work with, and adorable to boot! if you read my blog, you know i never post this many photos in the sneak peek, but i just couldn't help myself. :) thanks for a super fun session, S family!

i was so excited when i announced my florida vacation, and my friend janel decided to book a maternity session during our visit! we met up at her resort, and the weather was beautiful! i really need to book sessions in florida more often. :) miss m was more than happy to help me pose everyone, and jump in front of the camera for my "test" shots. i can tell she's going to be a fabulous big sister! :)

what a cutie! the 2 fire ant bites i got during this session were totally worth getting some shots of this adorable little girl! :) she was a little princess, and lit up with that huge grin every time her mommy sang to her. loved those great facial expressions too! she definitely stole a place in my heart!

so i met this boy.... | winston-salem family photographer

... and he stole my heart. his name is mason, and he's 9 years old. he has this great family and lots of friends and love and support. he's silly and brave and an inspiration to so many. he has a sweet, sweet spirit that you can just feel when you're around him. and let me tell you, when he smiles, you just can't help but smile too.

on the outside, mason looks like like a normal, happy kid... but on the inside, his body is fighting a battle that most of us can't comprehend. you see, mason has a rare cancer called anaplastic ganglioglioma and the tumors in his brain are not getting better. i have been following mason's story for a while, but when a friend told me that he had progressed from the "cure stage" to the "palliative care stage" (just making him comfortable), i knew i needed to help. i don't have a lot to offer, but i wanted to give them a family photo session while mason was feeling well enough. i am so glad i did. meeting mason and his family might have just changed my life. what an amazing strength they have. here is a glimpse into our session....

I was so excited to finally arrange a day that worked with our schedules to photograph this sweet family. The weather turned out to be perfect... I think it was only in the 70s for our session!
