the weather finally cleared up today so we could shoot this downtown session i'd been looking forward to! these handsome boys belong to a great friend of mine, and we had a lot of fun on our shoot today! thanks guys!

I was super excited to photograph my dear friend Courtney's kiddos today! I was looking forward to catching up (between her multiple jobs and 4 kids and my job, business, and 3 kids, it doesn't happen often!) and spending some time with her and her little ones. It was a super quick shoot and we were pretty distracted by her crazy beautiful kids, so the catching up didn't happen, but that's just an excuse to get together one morning while the kids are in school. :) Thanks for a fun afternoon, Courtney!

I can't tell you how excited I was to do Baby M's one year old photos. She's so stinking cute, it *almost* made me wish I had another little one! But that's part of the fun of my job, right? I get to play with all these adorable kids, and when they get fussy, they go home with their parents. :) We are going to do an outdoor session with Baby M too! Can't wait for that one!

So I knew they were calling for rain today and snow late tonight, but imagine my surprise when it suddenly looked like a blizzard (ok, by North Carolina standards anyway!) outside my window just before my 1pm photo session today! Luckily, these sweet boys were up for a little bit of playing in the snow for their session!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! I enjoyed spending time with family, yummy food, and of course, Black Friday shopping! I still go out in the middle of the night for my shopping on Black Friday, but I keep saying that I'm going to start shopping online since so much of it is available on the websites now. But there's something about the adrenaline pumping dash across the store to find that awesome deal. :)

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family yesterday... the girls absolutely cracked me up. They are total sweethearts and super fun! We were glad that the rain held off and the weather wasn't too bad! It was a fun session, M family! Enjoy your sneak peek!

a fun afternoon with my bff :)

We had absolutely beautiful weather this past weekend! It was a perfect weekend to photograph my friend's kids. I love these kids like my own, so we had a lot of fun during our session, and topped it off with Krispy Kreme donuts for a treat afterward (for the kids, of course ;). We've already ordered the one of the 3 of them together in a canvas gallery wrap for her, can't wait to see it!

I get pretty excited when I have the opportunity to photograph newborns.... especially when they have such a great head of hair. :)

This sneak peek is from my second session yesterday afternoon. I really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for photo sessions! The weather was just perfect. The H family looked great in their portrait outfits! I loved Little C's red dress... *almost* makes me wish I had a little girl! Almost. :)

time flies....

I had a one-year-old session with one of my baby planners today.... it's hard to believe that cute little squirt that tried to tip my basket over at 3 months old is a walker now! He still lights up at the sight of his mommy. :) He was a tired little guy today, and ended up dozing off at the end of his session. I took advantage though, by getting some sweet shots of him and his mommy together. Enjoy this sneak peek from Little R's session.

sweet serenity...

I can't believe she's a year old! This gorgeous little girl has stolen the hearts of everyone in our family. My boys especially adore their little cousin, and she's pretty entertained by them, too. :) I love looking at her sweet face!

he's growing up...

I know I've said before that I love my baby planners... I really do! I so enjoy watching them grow up. This little guy is such a cutie! He wasn't quite sitting up on his own when we started, but he was doing pretty well by the time the session was over! :)

I love shooting downtown, so when the H family told me that's where they wanted to do their session, I was ecstatic. The kids were fantastic to work with, and the family was full of personality, which made for a great session! :) Enjoy your sneak peek, H family!

catching up with friends!

I always enjoy getting together with my friend, Libbi, and her family, and seeing how much her little guy has grown! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the park, and we let the little one lead the way... :)

personal post | airplane!

So yesterday, a nice man from our church made our boys' day! We took a little trip to visit Tony and see his airplane... I had asked him if he minded if we take some photos with it since all my boys love planes and love to fly, (and especially for Tate, whose room is decorated in vintage airplanes, per his request). The boys were SO excited to see the plane, just imagine the thrill when Tony offered to give the two older boys a ride in it! They've all flown in large commercial planes, but this was their first ride in a small two-seater! It's a totally different experience. Thank you, Tony! My boys will never forget that day! I thought I'd post a couple of photos of the boys and the plane... thought I'd do a couple of fun and funky shots with it. :)

Sisters....

I had the lovely opportunity to photograph these two sisters this afternoon. These girls are so sweet, and they seemed to warm up to the camera fairly quickly! I was excited to use my new-to-me chair, so between that and the cute dresses the girls were wearing, I decided to do the whole sneak peek in a bit of a retro finish.
